The Bradford Exchange is global direct to consumer product marketing organization.  

We are hiring a Application Development Manager!


This role provides both high-level and in-depth technical direction within project team, including business partners to best meet the corporate goals and objectives.  Participates in the development of business requirements and the translation of business requirements into technology solutions.  Leads the architecture/design of software solutions.  Works with infrastructure teams to define application ecosystem.  Manages development activities and resources in legacy mainframe and SAP systems.  Establishes development standards. Implements and manages development governance. Acts as point person for IT operating model changes regarding adoption of new development tools / methods.  Ensures delivery of all development objects as per project requirements and plans.  Facilitates responsive correction to defects found in QA testing.  Develops and delivers training as applicable for new development tools.  Acts as point of contact for technical post project go-live support.



  • Staff management
  • Solution development (participation in scoping, requirements, planning sessions, etc.)
  • Technology research and investigation


Required Qualifications

            Education, Licensing, Certification, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of design, development and implementation of application systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of staff management, including hiring / terminating, resource planning and development, coaching.

            Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to direct others in a non-reporting relationship
  • Proven ability to translate and transform old technology to new technology solutions
  • Proven ability to partner with operations and project teams
  • Experience managing blended internal and outsourced application support


Preferred Qualifications

            Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience introducing new solutions in technology environments
  • Background in ERP solution selection, development and implementation
  • Knowledge / understanding of mainframe / legacy technologies (i.e adabase, cobol, natural, informatica)
  • Experience in supporting Organizational Change Management
  • Experience driving process improvement and maturity in complex environments
